Reported Accident Near FDL/Winnebago County Line Was Suicide

Winnebago County authorities say a 27-year-old Ripon man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday night. Sheriff’s deputies at first responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a home at 6873 State Highway 44 in the Town of Utica. They found a vehicle in a field about 100 to 150 yards off the roadway. Jordan Cody was dead inside it. The Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office conducted an investigation and the preliminary determination is that Cody died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident near the Fond du Lac/Winnebago County line was reported at 9:16 Wednesday night.
