NFC Championship Game

Los Angeles Rams 26, New Orleans Saints 23 (OT)-Greg Zuerlein kicked a 57 yard field goal to win it.

College Men’s Basketball from Saturday

Wisconsin 64, #2 Michigan 54- The Badgers, now 12-6 overall and 4-3 Big Ten, got an All-American performance from senior Ethan Happ, huge plays from several players and outscored the Wolverines, 7-0, over the final 51.2 seconds. Happ finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The Wolverines dropped to 17-1 on the season and 6-1 in the conference.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh men’s basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 72-66 victory over UW-La Crosse on Saturday at Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans improved to 6-0 in the WIAC and 16-1 overall while handing the Eagles (12-5, 5-1) their first conference loss.

Oshkosh, ranked fifth in the nation in Division III by D3hoops.com, is the lone unbeaten team in the WIAC after extending its school-record winning streak to 15 games.

Jack Flynn scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Titans. Brett Wittchow added 17 points and became the 34th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.

 

Women’s College Basketball from Saturday

Chloe Pustina scored 15 points and the Titans outscored the Eagles 23-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away and beat the Eagles, 60-48 in Lacrosse.

With the win, the 12th-ranked Titans improved to 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the WIAC. La Crosse, which is ranked No. 23 in the country, fell to 15-2 overall and 4-2 in the WIAC.

Melanie Schneider added 10 points for Oshkosh, while Karsyn Rueth and Jessie Rabas each had nine rebounds.

 

Ripon College 67, St. Norbert College 58

 

The Milwaukee Bucks will retire the No. 8 jersey of Marques Johnson in a special halftime ceremony on Sunday, March 24, when the Bucks host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. at Fiserv Forum. Johnson, who played in 524 career games with Milwaukee over seven seasons from 1977-84, will become the ninth player in Bucks history to have his number retired.



The Wisconsin Herd on Saturday night, won on the road over the Capital City Go-Go, 109-105.  The Herd outscored the Wisconsin Herd 24-to-14 in the final quarter to get the victory.

Christian Wood, on assignment from the Milwaukee Bucks, scored 10 of Wisconsin's 24
point in the fourth to lead the comeback for the Herd. Wood finished the game with
34 points and a season-high 23 rebounds. Wisconsin finished the game on an 18-7 run
as Capital City struggled to find open looks.


Wisconsin also received contributions from Michael Qualls (23 points), who had his
second-straight game with 23 points, as he went 13-of-17 from the free throw line.
Bonzie Colson (11 points), Robert Johnson (10 points) and Vander Blue (10 points)
all scored in double-figures for the Herd as well. Wisconsin went 30-for-35 from the free throw line in the game, the third time this month the team has attempted at least 35 free throws in a game.

Wisconsin will return home and host the Windy City Bulls on Wednesday, January 23.

NBA from Saturday
Milwaukee 118, Orlando 108-Eric Bledsoe led the Bucks with 30 points while Giannis Antetoukumpo had 25 and 13 rebounds.

The Bucks host Dallas Monday afternoon.


The Packers reportedly have hired a couple of more assistant coaches.  NBC Sports Bay Area reported on Friday that 35 year-old Marshfield native and former Packers practice squad player Adam Stenavich will be the offensive line coach.  He succeeds long-time offensive line coach James Campen who moved on to Cleveland.  

Head coach Matt Lafleur also on Friday hired former Washington Redskins linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti.


Men’s College Hoops from Sunday

Sam Hauser scored 25 points, Markus Howard added 24 points and nine rebounds and No. 15 Marquette rallied past Providence 79-68 on Sunday.

After honoring former star Dwyane Wade with a celebration that included a halftime tribute, Marquette surged and improved to 13-0 at home.
