2 January 2019 News
Lake Mills Fire Captain Chris Truman was killed New Year’s Eve while helping out a motorist on the beltline outside Monona. The woman he helped out lost control and her car skidded. He saw what happened and pulled his car over behind her with its lights on to help her. He pulled her bumper off which was hanging off. She was afraid and overwhelmed. He was at her window telling her he would follow her off the beltline to safety when he was struck. Truman was a 13 year veteran of the Lake Mills Fire Department. The driver that hit him is facing drunken driving homicide charges.
