More Details Released About Dodge County Shooting Incident
Dodge County Sheriff’s officials have released more details about shots being fired upon residences and vehicles in the Town of Trenton early New Year’s Day. Shots that struck the front window of a residence on County Highway W near Hemlock Road were fired from the west. They also hit a shed and pickup truck inside the shed. About 45 minutes later shots were heard on Buckhorn Road near County Highway C. No damage was reported in that incident. It’s not known if the shots being fire were accidental or intentional. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Two Sex Offender Being Released In Oshkosh
Two sex offenders will be released from prison into Oshkosh Tuesday. Thirty-four-year-old Peter Cabrera will be living at 803 West Murdock Avenue and 44-year-old Troy Thompson will be living at 889 Hennessy Street. Cabrera’s victims were 13, 15, 16-year-old girls. Thompson was convicted of 5 counts of possessing child pornography.

Deadline Extended For Ripon School Board Candidates
Anyone interested in running for the Ripon Area School Board has until 5 pm Monday to get in the proper paperwork to the district offices. Because incumbent David Scott did not file any paperwork that led to a 72 hour extension for potential candidates. Incumbent David Olson filed non-candidacy papers. Incumbent Gary Rodman and challengers Margaret Betsy Heffernan and Nate Zindars are running for the three seats available on the board in the spring election.
Narcan Training Sessions Planned
Free Narcan training will be provided at two or more locations in Fond du Lac County this year. The training sessions are for anyone who is affected by opioid use. Those taking the training will learn how to respond and safely use Narcan, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. Free Narcan kits will be provided to participants. The first session will be at the Forest Mall in Fond du Lac on Tuesday, January 29th at 6 pm and the second on Monday March 11th at 6 pm at the Campbellsport Public Library. Emergency Services Recognition Night Tonight At Ripon HS Boys Basketball Game
Ripon’s Police, Fire and EMS Services will be recognized during Emergency Services Recognition Night at the Ripon Boys High School Basketball game tonight. Jason Mansmith who will call the game with Bruce Link between Ripon and Berlin on WRPN 93.1 and am1600 says they truly appreciate the sacrifices police, fire and EMS have to make on behalf of the community. “This is just really a good opportunity to thank them all for the work they provide and kudos to Steve Brooks and Marcus Walters with the Boys’ program to kind of getting this moving and to let people recognize those folks for all the great work they do in the community.” Those who bring three non-perishable food items to the game can get in free. Tip-off is at 7:15 pm.
