FDL Man Who Allegedly Tried To Kill Stepfather Not Competent To Represent Himself

25 January 2019 News

A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a 19-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected of beating his 73-year-old stepfather with a tire iron. During a status conference Thursday in Fond du Lac County court Ryan Robison told Judge Dale English he wanted to represent himself. But the judge found Robison was not competent to represent himself. The hearing was rescheduled for February 28th before a different judge, Judge Peter Grimm. Robison is being held in the County Jail on a $400,000 cash bond. He’s facing attempted homicide charges. Authorities say Gary Bloedorn suffered severe head injuries in the attack at the Evergreen Village Apartments in Fond du Lac on January 15th. In addition part of a finger was severed in the attack. Robison was being represented by Attorney William Mayer.
