FDL Man Sentenced For Pedestrian’s Death
4 January 2019 News
A 52-year-old Fond du Lac man was sentenced in Fond du Lac County court Thursday to 3 years of probation and 12 months of conditional jail time for striking and killing a pedestrian in Fond du Lac. Last month Peter Anderson pleaded no contest to a charge of knowingly operating a vehicle without a valid license causing death. Anderson hit 54-year-old Jeffrey Koenigs with his pickup truck on a city street in Fond du Lac in November of 2017. Koenigs died of his injuries. During the sentencing Koenig’s wife Sara stated: “My family has been through a lot.. a fraction of which would break most people. We’ll get through this together, the same way we’ve faced our other tragedies. That being said I’d like to say that if one positive thing could come of this— I hope that it is a reminder to everyone that when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle you are literally taking people’s lives into your hands. It is a great responsibility. Please drive safely.” Eight months of Anderson’s jail time was stayed to be used at the discretion of his probation agent.”
