Dodge County Sheriff Returns Scammers Phone Call

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt turned the tables on a scammer calling them after someone posed as being with his department for a scam. Scammers have been calling county residents saying a warrant is out for their arrest and they need to pay a bond to stay out of jail. Schmidt called the number the scammers have been using and when a man answered identified himself at which point the scammer hung up. He called it back and got the same person who swore at the Sheriff and told him to leave him alone while he was at work. The Sheriff told him he should not identify himself as being with the Sheriff’s Office at which point the scammer hung up again. The scammer’s phone number was 920-386-3320, which is not associated with the Sheriff’s Department.
