If Tuesday and Wednesday’s snow storm was the cake, the brutal temperatures during the next few days will be the icing on that cake. Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken recommends staying inside when you can and leaving no exposed skin when you are outdoors. She says time outdoors should also be limited for pets. “They can bet frostbite too. They get impacted by the cold and really can’t be out those temperatures. So make sure your pets also have shelter” Other tips include checking on your family, friends and neighbors. The Salvation Army in Fond du Lac has a warming shelter at their facilities at 237 North Macy Street that operate from 6 pm to 8 am each day. Additional shelter options are available through the Solutions Center by calling (920) 923-1743.
