Beaver Dam Man Found Guilty In Heroin Death

A Dodge County jury has found a 41-year-old Beaver Dam man guilty of supplying the heroin that killed a 62-year-old Reesevillle man in February of 2016. Jason Thompson will be sentenced on May 1st on first degree reckless homicide and felony bail jumping charges. Thompson arranged a trip to Madison to purchase heroin for the victim James Hook. There were text messages between them and Hook used the heroin that same night. County Managing Attorney Robert Barrington says the case is important because a human life was taken and society needs to hold those accountable when they provide illicit drugs to others. a presentence investigation was ordered. Thompson faces up to 46 years in prison and $110,000.00 in fines.
