Davante Adams’ prolific season is rewarded Tuesday night with the receiver’s first selection to the Pro Bowl; he appeared in the game last season as an injury replacement. Aaron Rodgers was also selected to the NFC squad, his 7th Pro Bowl selection. Left tackle David Bakhtiari, defensive lineman Kenny Clark, and center Corey Linsley were all named alternates.

The Packers are en route to their 2nd straight losing season, a first in Green Bay since the 1990 and 1991 seasons, but Adams has been a bright spot. The most consistent offensive weapon is currently 2nd in the NFL in TD catches (12), 4th in receptions (100), and 4th in yards (1,315). He needs 13 more catches to break Sterling Sharpe’s team record (112). With 2 games remaining, Adams has a chance to become the Packers first player to have 100 catches, 1,500 yards, and 15 TDs in a season.

Rodgers typically doesn’t play in the Pro Bowl, skipping the last 4 times he has been selected. His 7 selections are 2 shy of Brett Favre’s team record for quarterbacks. Rodgers is close to a career-low completion percentage, and could set a career-low for TD passes in a full season as a starter; he has 23 with 2 games remaining, with his previous low of 28 set in the 2010 season.

Packers running back Aaron Jones will miss the final two games of the season after being placed on injured reserve.

The team’s leading rusher left the 24-17 loss to Chicago on Sunday in the first quarter with a knee injury. The defeat helped eliminate the Packers from playoff contention.

Jones ran for 728 yards and eight touchdowns on 133 carries in 12 games, including eight starts. He was among the league leaders in averaging 5.5 yards per attempt.

Jones missed the first two games of the season after being suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Jamaal Williams figures to reclaim the starting running back job when the Packers visit the New York Jets on Sunday.

Green Bay signed rookie receiver Allen Lazard from the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad to replace Jones on the active roster. The Packers also signed defensive lineman Eric Cotton and cornerback D.J. Killings to the practice squad.

Markus Howard scored 26 points, including 19 over the final 10:22 of the first half to help stabilize No. 20 Marquette after a sloppy start Tuesday night in a 92-66 win over North Dakota.

Howard, a sharpshooting guard, was 9 of 13 from the field and 4 of 6 from behind the 3-point line. Sam Hauser added 21 points for Marquette (9-2).
