Two Ripon Residents Charged In Connection With Drug Bust

Two Ripon residents arrested during a drug bust at 115 East Jackson Street last week have made their initial appearances in Fond du Lac County Court. Cash bonds were set for 20-year-old Owen Nordvold and 21-year-old Skylar Smerling. The bond was $2,000 for Nordvold and $500 for Smerling. Nordvold faces the more serious charges of maintaining a drug trafficking place and felony marijuana trafficking. When police executed a search warrant at Nordvold’s apartment they found heroin, marijuana, Adderall, Narcan, a variety of pills, drug packaging and paraphernalia, and cash. Preliminary hearings were scheduled for both. Nordvold’s hearing is on December 27th and Smerling’s on January 24th. Both made their court appearances via video conferencing from the County Jail Monday.
