Two Promoted At FDL County Sheriff’s Office

Fond du Lac County Sheriff-elect and Chief Deputy Ryan Waldschmidt announced a couple of promotions Thursday. Captain Kevin Gallske, who has served as the jail administrator for past 12 years, will become the chief deputy/undersheriff. Lieutenant James Borgen will replace Galske as a captain and jail administrator. Both promotions take effect on January 7th when Waldschmidt takes the oath of office for Sheriff. Sheriff Mick Fink will retire that same day after 37 years with the department. Fink will take the traditional ramp walk that day reserved for long-time veterans of the Sheriff’s Department.
