A question Packer fans are asking is, will Aaron Rodgers start the final two games of the season? Rodgers says he tweaked his groin when throwing Hail Mary pass to close out the first half, and it bothered him a “little bit” in the second half.
However Rodgers said he has every intention of playing against the Jets Sunday.
However, Packers Interim Head Coach Joe Philbin was much less definitive on the subject. He said his philosophy is that football players are paid to play football games but that it’s still early to know what Rodgers status will be.
Backup quarterback Deshone Kizer and Coach Philbin both said neither has been involved in conversations of Kizer getting any reps against the Jets or the Lions.
The Packers announced Monday they have picked up RB Kapri Bibbs off waivers from Washington.
The 5′ 10”, 203-pound, third-year player out of Colorado State has played in 26 career games, recording 309 rushing yards on 70 attempts (4.4 avg.)
Bibbs has three touchdowns and 305 receiving yards on 29 receptions (10.5 avg.) with three TDs. He also has returned 10 kickoffs in his career with an average of 16.8 yards per return.
Bibbs was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2014.
From 2014-16, he spent time on Denver’s practice squad and active roster.
Meanwhile, Green Bay Packers backup lineman, Alex Light, has been suspended for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
The Packers say the one-game suspension without pay will start this Sunday when the Packers take on the New York Jets.
Light will be eligible to return to active roster Monday, Dec. 24.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and 12 rebounds, and the Milwaukee Bucks held on for a 107-104 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night when Blake Griffin missed a last-second 3-pointer.
Griffin actually missed two 3s in the final 14 seconds. The Detroit star already had a triple-double after three quarters, but it was a quiet fourth for him. Griffin finished with 19 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, but he also had 10 turnovers.
