Aaron Rodgers confirmed Wednesday that he will play Sunday against the Jets. No, playoff berths are not on the line this time around, but playing for confidence and doing things the right way matters to the Packers quarterback.
“I think it’s about leadership,” Rodgers said. “If I want to be listened to and followed and looked up to, how could I stand here and say that these games that don’t matter for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, receiver Davante Adams said he was excited about his Pro Bowl selection on Tuesday.
Adams’ first outright selection signifies his arrival on the national stage. He played last year as an alternate. He said he’s worked hard to “be in the position he’s in.
After getting paid like a star last December (with a 4-year deal worth $14.5 million per season) he’s gone to work. His 100 catches and 1300+ yards rank 4th in the league. His 12 touchdowns? 2nd best.
As much as the Pro Bowl nod meant on Tuesday, you get the sense that Adams would take even more pride in a couple of franchise records. 12 catches and 204 yards are all that stand between him and single-single marks in the 100-year history of the Green Bay Packers.
Left tackle David Bakhtiari, defensive lineman Kenny Clark and center Corey Linsley were named alternates. Bakhtiari said he feels he should have been named as a starter.
NBA-Milwaukee won at home over New Orleans 121 to 115. Giannis Antetokuomko scored 25 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had eight assists to lead the Bucks.

Wisconsin might have its next anchor on the offensive line with 6-foot-6 Logan Brown, a five-star prospect out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He’s a headliner for a good, 19-member recruiting class unveiled by the Badgers on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
The class is also highlighted by Graham Mertz, a four-star quarterback out of Overland, Kansas. Coach Paul Chyrst is already talking about how Mertz, the Kansas 2018 Gatorade Player of the Year, has taken a leadership role in the class.
The highly-touted Brown could be blocking for him in a year or two. Wisconsin has holes to fill at least at both guard positions with Michael Deiter and Beau Benzchawel leaving after the Pinstripe Bowl as seniors.
