Three Charged For FDL Overdose Death

The Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office has filed first degree reckless homicide charges against three area residents for the heroin overdose death of a 23-year-old Fond du Lac man last July. Forty-year-old Anthony Buechel of Waupun is in custody on an unrelated matter. But authorities have issued arrest warrants for 38-year-old Cara Zech of Waupun and 46-year-old Julie Harr of Fond du Lac. According to the criminal complaints the three rode to Milwaukee on July 27th with another person to purchase heroin including some for Steven Compton. Compton died of an overdose in a bedroom of his Fond du Lac home the next day. He had survived a previous overdose District Attorney Eric Toney is asking anyone with information about Zech or Harr’s whereabouts to contact their local enforcement agency or the Fond du Lac Police Department. Buechel has a previous conviction for selling heroin.
