Santa’s Workshop

6 December 2018 News

Oshkosh Police have been so involved in charitable efforts this season they actually created their own Santa’s Workshop to store all the donated items that will be given to children and the needy. Public Affairs Officer Katherine Mann says she couldn’t possibly store them all in her office. A convenient spot was the second floor of the safety building where the old jail is. She says they converted a cell in the old jail into Santa’s Workshop. “We converted one cell in particular and we called it Santa’s Workshop and decorated it and have all the different donations up there displayed up there and organized. Ready to give out.” Among other things the department has supplied gift cards, winter clothing, hygiene items, stuffed animals to the needy, warming shelters and hospitals. They’ve adopted refugee families and seniors for the holidays and will participate in the Shop with a Cop program.
