Oshkosh Man Charged With Infant Son’s Death

5 December 2018 News

A 27-year-old Oshkosh man has been charged for allegedly shaking his 7-week-old son to death. Cory Lyons made his initial appearance via video conferencing in Winnebago County court Tuesday on a first degree reckless homicide charge. Bond was set at $250,000 cash. According to the criminal complaint the child’s mother left him with Lyons last Thursday when she went to work. Lyons told authorities he became frustrated with the baby’s crying and shook the infant five or six times not supporting his head while he was doing it. An autopsy found the child died of brain injuries. Lyons will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on December 13th.
