Lost Hunter Found Safe In The Eldorado Marsh

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials are crediting a quick response by everyone involved in finding a 38-year-old Fond du Lac man who got lost in the Eldorado Marsh after hunting Sunday evening. Robert Deere fell through the ice up to his thighs. He was cold and wet when rescuers found him, but medical personnel treated him at the scene and released him. The County’s Communication Center used GPS coordinates from his 911 call to pinpoint his location. Assisting in the rescue were Eldorado Fire Department, the Ripon Fire Department with a drone, 2 water rescue personnel, the DNR and North Fond du Lac ambulance. The rescue took just over an hour.
