High Speed Chase Suspect Waives Preliminary Hearing

10 December 2018 News

The Sussex man who led Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies on a 12-mile high speed chase last month that extended into Dodge County waived his preliminary hearing. Twenty-seven-year-old Kevin O’Brien was then arraigned during the hearing Thursday and pleaded not guilty to felony counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer and bail jumping. He faces a number of traffic offenses as well including operating under the influence. The chase on November 26th began when a Sheriff’s deputy saw the vehicle going over 100 miles an hour on I-41 near Highway 151 in the Town of Fond du Lac. At one point O’Brien was allegedly going 117 miles an hour. Tire deflation devices were used to slow down his vehicle.
