The Packers were back on the practice field Wednesday. Green Bay is 4-6-1 with five games left and must start a playoff push Sunday against the 2-9 Arizona Cardinals at Lambeau Field. The Packers most likely need to win their remaining five games and then get some help from other NFC teams.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said the team plans to play loose and take “calculated chances” during this stretch.

Rodgers has been criticized for his fundamentals affecting his play. Rodgers told reporters, “I throw how I throw. I’m not playing any different this year, just we are not completing as many passes percentage-wise.”

Rodgers numbers through 11 games has 20 touchdown passes and just one interception but his completion percentage ranks 28th in the league which has led to national media outlets criticizing his mechanics.

Rodgers said he stays on top of his fundamentals in practice but much of it is muscle memory.

Thirteen players were listed on the Green Bay Packers injury report on Wednesday. Eight players did not participate in practice.

McCarthy told the media Wednesday morning WR/KR/PR Trevor Davis would not play this week against the Cardinals. Davis injured his hamstring against the Vikings last week. Starting left tackle David Bakhtiari suffered two knee injures against Minnesota. He said Wednesday he will do his best to play this Sunday.

Four Packers players were limited during practice. The list includes starting left guard Lane Taylor (quadriceps), WR Equanimeious St. Brown (elbow), CB Kevin King (hamstring) and WR Randall Cobb (hamstring).

Meanwhile, The Packers signed S Eddie Pleasant, released LB Korey Toomer, signed FB Malcolm Johnson to the practice squad and placed G Anthony Coyle on the practice squad; injured list. The transactions were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

In Thursday night football, New Orleans plays at Dallas.

The Big Ten on Wednesday announced postseason offensive awards based on voting by coaches and media.

National rushing leader Jonathan Taylor of Wisconsin was voted running back of the year and Wisconsin’s Michael Deiter top offensive lineman.

Taylor was a first-team selection by the Big Ten coaches and media. While four Badgers offensive linemen were first-team selections by the Big Ten Media: center Tyler Biadasz, guard Beau Benzschawel, guard Michael Deiter and tackle David Edwards.

Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who set Big Ten records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season, is the conference’s offensive player of the year.

Milwaukee 116, Chicago 113-Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a season-high 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bucks. Milwaukee improves to 15-6, 2/12 games behind Toronto in the Eastern Conference.
