A Fond du Lac County jury Wednesday found a 35-year-old Fond du Lac man guilty of over 40 counts of drugging and sexually assaulting children, and other misdemeanor and felony charges. It capped a nine-day trial. District Attorney Eric Toney says James Rasmussen will be sentenced February 8th. He says they can’t take back what happened to the two boys that were assaulted, but at least it is a start in the process of justice. “Just really proud of those boys for being brave and the courage they showed in coming forward and testifying and helping take a dangerous person off of the street. It is not an easy thing to do and we are just really proud of the testimony and what they were able to do.” Rasmussen provided marijuana to various children and sexually assaulted two of them. He’s facing about 500 years of initial confinement in prison. His bond was revoked and a presentence investigation was ordered.
