Ripon Common Council Will Discuss Jackson Street Bridge Repair

The Ripon Common Council tonight will discuss options for repairing the failing North wall of the Jackson Street Bridge. According to the City’s public works-engineering department there are several options. To Redi Rock or provide a gravity wall for the North wall would cost $310,000 and would last 100 years. A complete rebuild of the bridge would be $750,000 and would have a life span of 75 years and another process known as Shotcrete spray or wet-sprayed concrete would be $160, 000 but would only last 5 to 10 years. The Council will also consider a petition asking that parking restrictions on both sides of Hall Street from Spaulding to Tygert be lifted. The restrictions were put in place for Alliance Laundry System employees to prevent them from parking in front of resident’s houses. The Council meets at 7 pm at the Ripon City Hall.

Grothman says, “He has ads saying that says he is not going to take PAC dollars from corporations when he has taken so many dollars from a group that he founded a group called JStreet in Washington. Very left of left group got to know some of the hyper wealthy people from New York, Florida, California that have way to much influence already on our campaigns.” In his latest attack ads Kohl accuses Grothman of not protecting senior citizens on issues like Medicare, Social Security, prescription drugs, and Medicaid. Grothman Campaign Manager Tim Svoboda says in fact Grothman has a proven track record of protecting Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, while taking on drug companies in order to lower costs for patients.
