Trick Or Treating Safety
To make sure there are no tricks this Halloween make sure you put your child’s safety first. Andrew Beckett of Ready Wisconsin says there are a number of ways you can do that. Make sure you are aware of when your community is holding trick or treating times. “Even if you are not trick or treating you should be aware of when people are out and about in your neighborhood especially if you are going to be driving in the evening hours. Kid move around pretty quickly and not every area has sidewalks.” He also recommends making sure if your child does wear a mask they can see out of it properly and it doesn’t restrict breathing. Other tips include avoiding costumes that might make a child trip. Make sure costumes have reflective tape or material that can be seen if they are making their ghostly rounds after dark. Or have them carry a flashlight. Afterwards check treats to make sure they haven’t been tampered with or contain ingredients your child might be allergic too. Many communities will be holding trick or treating hours this weekend.
