Second Fatal Accident In As Many Days In FDL County

Speed and alcohol were factors in a fatal accident in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Lamartine early Tuesday morning. Sheriff’s officials say 21-year-old Ryan Leonard of Fond du Lac was heading south on County Highway I and failed to stop at the stop sign at State Highway 23. The vehicle traveled through a yard and struck a tree before bursting into flames. Deputies tried to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful. Town of Lamartine firefighters put out the fire. Leonard was wearing his seat belt and air bags deployed, but he died in the crash and fire. Also responding to the scene were the State Patrol, North Fond du Lac Ambulance, Lamartine First Responders, and the County Medical Examiner’s Office. The accident was reported just

The vehicle traveled through a yard and struck a tree before bursting into flames. Deputies tried to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful. Town of Lamartine firefighters put out the fire. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, died in the crash and fire. Also responding to the scene were the State Patrol, North Fond du Lac Ambulance, Lamartine First Responders, and the County Medical Examiner’s Office. The accident was reported just before 2:30 am. It was the second fatal crash in the County in as many days.
