Ripon Common Council Approves RFP For Former Boca Properties
10 October 2018 News
The Ripon Common Council Tuesday evening unanimously approved the draft for a Request for Proposals that will be sent out to potential developers for the city-owned former Boca Grande properties downtown. The city has been working with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Ripon Main Street, Wisconsin Main Street and Envision Greater Fond du Lac on the draft. Jon Bartz of the WEDC says the RFP will be sent out to potential developers in the Midwest and they will be looking for someone who has done this type of project before. Mayor Gary Will says it will be a great opportunity for the right developer. He says, “This could be one big project, it could be three medium sized project or four or five smaller projects. It’s really open for discussion on if and when and what somebody wants to do there.” The RFP will have a quick turnaround with a walk through of properties with potential developers scheduled for October 25th and a deadline to submit proposals back to the city by November 9th.
