Chapel Destroyed At Camp Vista

Fire destroyed the main chapel at Camp Vista in Fond du Lac County’s Osceola Township early Wednesday morning. A passerby saw the flames in the wooded area and called the County’s Communication Center. Initial reports were that the chapel was fully engulfed in flames with the fire spreading into the nearby wooded area. The chapel was approximately a 50 by 80 foot building and was a total loss. No animals were lost in the fire and no injuries were reported. At least nine fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze. The cause of the fire is still being determined. Camp Vista is a faith-based camp near the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
