Violent Sex Offender Will Be Placed In Van Dyne

Efforts to prevent placement of a violent sex offender from Racine County at a Nitschke Road address in Van Dyne have failed. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink says efforts of the Town of Eldorado, County Corporation Counsel, and District Attorney’s Office won’t prevent the placement of Preston Rintamaki there Wednesday. The Wisconsin Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the placement. Fink says he doesn’t agree with the decision, but has a statutory obligation to see the order out.. Fink points out that a 15-year-old girl lives with her father within 1500 feet of the residence at N8578 Nitschke Road. The 48-year-old Rintamaki was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child in Racine County in December of 1991 and was committed as a sexually violent person in June of 1999 also in Racine County.
