Neenah Man Crashes Plane After Fleeing Law Enforcement

A 47-year-old Neenah man wanted on domestic abuse related charges crashed his airplane in a Waupaca County corn field late Friday night after taking off from Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh without clearance. Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials say Andrei Blesinger nearly collided with an Oshkosh Police Squad car when he took off from a runway. Police were there to arrest him on charges stemming from an incident that occurred 18 days earlier. Blesinger suffered severe, but non-life-threatening injuries when he crashed his plane. He was taken to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Possible Drug Death At Dodge County Wayside

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible drug death. A man and two women were found at wayside along Interstate 41 late Thursday evening. The man was passed out and died. The two women were taken to a hospital for treatment. Deputies responded to the call at the wayside in Lomira about 11:45 Thursday night.

Former Fox Lake Correctional Officer Sentenced To Prison

A former Fox Lake Correctional officer suspected of sexually assaulting three inmates has been sentenced to 35 years in prison. Thirty-four-year-old Alex Andre Wouts of Poy Sippi was sentenced Friday in Dodge Count Court. In May a jury found Wouts guilty of five counts of second degree sexual assault by correctional staff. Prosecutors say he could be termed a serial rapist. Wouts will be placed on extended supervision for 25 years after he has served his prison term.

High Water Reported On Dodge And Columbia County Roads

The state’s Department of Military Affairs says about 75 Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers were called into duty this weekend to place sandbags along a nearly mile-long stretch of eastbound I-90/94 near Wisconsin Highway 33 in Columbia County. Rising floodwaters and additional predicted rainfall threatened to flood the interstate potentially causing lane closures. One lane was closed near Highway 33 while the Guard placed sandbags. Meanwhile Sunday night the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office took multiple reports of high water on roads in the Town of Rubicon. They asked that residents use caution while driving.

Slow No Wake Order Issued For Green Lake County

Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll imposed a “Slow No Wake” order on several county waterways this weekend due to the excessive rain and damage done by storms that spawned two tornadoes in the county. The order is in place for all of Lake Puckaway, all of Little Green Lake, and all of the Fox River from Lake Puckaway north, through Princeton, and to the north County Line at Berlin. Big Green Lake is exempt from the order. Slow-no-wake is defined as operation at a speed as slow as possible while maintaining the ability to navigate. The fine for violating the order, first offense, is $232.

Team Rubicon Responds To FDL And Dodge County Disasters

Team Rubicon volunteers spent the last four days in Fond du Lac County and Dodge counties helping with recovery from the tornadoes that went through the area. Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says, “We are very fortunate to have them respond to our citizens.” Team Rubicon volunteers provide: chainsaw operations, sand bagging, and debris management/removal for affected communities. Team Rubicon boasts an 80,000-strong, highly-skilled volunteer force that helps communities stabilize and recover after a disaster.

Lane Closure Hwy 151 In FDL County

The state’s Department of Transportation tells us US Highway 151 southbound at Wolf Road in Fond du Lac County will have a continuous right lane closure through most of the week. It started this morning and will continue until noon Friday. Officials say the reason is so highway workers can make pavement repairs.

Active Threat Drill At Waupun Memorial Hospital

A disgruntled former employee has returned to Waupun Memorial Hospital and poses a threat, that’s the scenario for an active threat drill at the hospital Wednesday. In addition to Hospital personnel, law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and Dodge County Emergency Management will participate in the drill. For an hour tomorrow morning hospital leaders and area first responders will walk the facility playing out the scenario. Afterwards they will follow up with questions and further education with employees.
