No City Referendum Questions For Ripon Residents

The Ripon Common Council will stick with the form of representation it currently has for the Council. Council members had pondered going to an at-large form of representation with members representing the city as a whole and not districts within it. They were looking at putting a couple of questions on the November ballot about at-large representation and term limits. But City Administrator Lori Rich says there just wasn’t enough interest in making the change to at-large representation and there will be no questions on the ballot for Ripon residents.

Ripon Not Ready For Designated ATV Route Discussion Yet

A Ripon resident recently asked the Ripon Common Council to consider designating routes for ATV and UTV use within the city. City Administrator Lori Rich says the request was not approved because it might be a little premature with no routes coming into the city. She says the closest ATV routes are in Kingston and Eureka, but there are no routes coming into the city of Ripon at this time. She says the Council is willing to discuss it again down the road if it becomes more popular and there are more routes. ATV routes were an issue in the Waushara County Sheriff’s race and also have been a hot topic in the city of Berlin.
