The Brewers are back in action tonight as they open a three-game series at Pittsburgh. Milwaukee trails the Cubs by 2 ½ games in the NL Central but lead the Cardinals by three games in for the top Wild Card spot. Jhoulys Chacin, who’s 14-8 goes against the Pirates Ivan Nova, with a record of 9-9.

The Green Bay Packers held practice for the first time this week on Thursday without a pair of starters while the team prepares for Sunday’s road game against the Washington Redskins.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers did not participate in practice on Thursday due to his sprained knee. Cornerback Kevin King, who left Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with a groin injury also did not practice. Rodgers said Wednesday that his knee is still sore from Sunday. Rodgers said he hopes his injury doesn’t get worse but that it is “obviously a concern.”

On Wednesday, the Packers did not practice which is a rarity instead choosing to do a walk-through. The reason for the light work is the team is coming off an overtime game alongside high temperatures.

Running back Aaron Jones, who served his two-game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy returned to practice on Thursday. Jones was added to the Packers 53-man roster after Green Bay released cornerback Deante Burton. Burton was claimed off waivers by the Packers from the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 11. He was inactive against the Vikings.

McCarthy called Aaron Jones’ role “secondary” behind Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery. Rookie inside linebacker Oren Burks was a full participant on Thursday. Burks missed the first two games with a shoulder injury. Also listed on the injury report was cornerback Davon House (Biceps) and safety Josh Jones (Ankle).

The Cleveland Browns won their first game since 2016 as they came back to beat the New York Jets last night, 21-17 in Cleveland. Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield led the comeback as he replaced starter Tyrod Taylor late in the second quarter after Taylor left was evaluated for a concussion, and led the Brown to victory, breaking a 19 game winless streak. Mayfield led four scoring drives and finished the game connecting on 17 of 23 passes for 201 yards. Taylor had a miserable game before his exit, completing only 4 of 14 passes for 19 yards while being sacked four times.
