Time To Drive Sober
17 August 2018 News
Over the next few weeks it would be a good idea to find someone else to do the driving if you’ve been drinking. Law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” effort that kicks off today. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says state grants they receive help to pay for extra patrols for such efforts. He says for a couple of years in a row the County has been the recipient of $110,000 highway safety grants. Last year in Wisconsin 161 people were killed and more than 3,000 people were injured in alcohol-related traffic accidents. In addition over 24,000 people were convicted of driving drunk.
