FDL County Chief Deputy Strand Retiring

After more than 37-years with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Mark Strand will be retiring at the end of the month. In his resignation letter to Sheriff Mick Fink, Strand says he has reached a crossroads in his life. He told us he and Sheriff Fink came up through the ranks together and he wanted to retire while Fink was Sheriff. Strand says he has been truly honored to serve with the men and women in the department. He also noted there have been events, arrests, and many intense situations he’s been able to get through because of the camaraderie in the Sheriff’s Department. He also thanked the Sheriff for the friendship they developed over the years. Strand’s last day in office will be on August 30th. Sheriff Fink will be retiring in January.
