Veterans Donate Book To FDL Public Library Children’s Collection

8 July 2018 News

Sarah Newton, youth services coordinator at the Fond du Lac Public Library, accepts a copy of the book, “Hero at Home,” written by Sarah Verardo. The story about a severely wounded veteran who comes home to his family was donated to the library by the Combat Infantrymen’s Association, represented here by Paul A. Birschbach, center, and Anthony Mielke. “We are grateful,” Newton said. “This book addresses important themes that unfortunately are rare in the children’s collection – service members, their families and their sacrifices.”
