Ripon Man Allegedly Threatens To Shoot City Officials

Charges has been filed against a 73-year-old Ripon man who allegedly threatened to shoot Ripon’s Mayor and other city officials. David Zeatlow made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court Wednesday. He is charged with making terrorist threats and two misdemeanors. According to the criminal complaint he called the Governor’s Office Monday trying to get the state to intervene in an argument with the City of Ripon. His property is going to be razed. Based on Zeatlow’s alleged threats, made to an official with the Governor’s Office, access to the Ripon City Hall was extremely limited and Ripon Police added extra patrols for the safety of Mayor Gary Will, City Administrator Lori Rich, and City Attorney Lud Wurtz. A $500 cash bond was ordered for Zeatlow and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 2nd.
