Property That Led To Threats Against Ripon Officials Razed
25 July 2018 News
A home that was a headache for Ripon officials and led to threats from the property owner has been razed. The house belonging to 73-year-old David Zeatlow was torn down last Thursday. Ripon Police Chief Bill Wallner says they started getting complaints from neighbors in 2016 about animals and vermin in the backyard of Zeatlow’s property. Zeatlow failed to clean it up despite citations. The City even cleaned the back yard up for him in March taking out truckloads of trash, garbage, junked vehicles, metal and more. Chief Wallner says the inside of the home was in bad shape too. It was filled with similar types of items and trash. Last week Zeatlow called the Governor’s Office trying to get them to intervene before the house was torn down. He allegedly made threats to shoot city officials that led to charges from the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office. He has a preliminary hearing on August 2nd.
