Two men charged in the armed robbery at a drug house in Fond du Lac have been bound over for trial. Twenty five year old Bobby Williams of Racine is charged with eight felony counts stemming from a March 24 home invasion at a residence in the 300 block of Fourth Street. Twenty eight year old Lakendrick Session of Fond du Lac is charged with six drug-related offenses. According to a criminal complaint police found large amounts of cocaine and marijuana, cash and two firearms. Three people inside the home told police they were robbed at gunpoint. Williams is being held in jail on $300,000 cash bond, Session is being held on $100,000 cash.

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says recent cases of severe bleeding and at least two deaths raises questions about whether synthetic cannabinoids should be legal. The state Department of Health Services says there have been cases of severe bleeding in Wisconsin and two deaths in Illinois. Fond du lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says hundreds of different synthetic cannabinoids are sold as liquids to be inhaled in e-cigarettes or other vaping devices. Mueller says the substance, often called fake-weed or K2 is unsafe and the health effects are unpredictable. The products can be found across the country in convenience stores, gas stations novelty stores and online.

Attorney General Brad Schimel wants to give a share of new safety grants to every school that applies. Gov. Scott Walker signed a bill last month creating $100 million in grants for school security. The state Department of Justice began taking applications Tuesday afternoon. Schimel said during a news conference Wednesday at St. Dennis School in Madison that if every school in Wisconsin got a grant the average award would be $32,000. He says the agency’s goal is to give at least some money to every school that applies. He says schools that need basic security upgrades such as door locks will be prioritized. Schimel says the DOJ received its first application Tuesday night.

Mount Pleasant says it has 95 percent of the property needed to build the massive Foxconn manufacturing complex. But, there are 20 properties that have not been acquired. Joe Janicek and Rich Richards are two homeowners waiting for the right offer. Both say they planned to stay in their homes long term. Richards says his family has been in the house 22 years. Janicek wonders where he’ll go. Mount Pleasant is offering the remaining homeowners 140 percent of the property’s appraised value. The village has 80 percent of the land needed for the plant. It’s offering $50,000 an acre for farmland.
