One person is seriously injured following a one vehicle accident in Fond du Lac County. The accident happened Sunday morning just before 8 am. on Midland Road in the Town of Ashford. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Sgt. Raul Rottscholl says the operator of a truck, a 22-year-old Campbellsport man, lost control and drove into a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle. Rottscholl says the man was flown from the scene to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries. Speed was a factor in the crash along with the individual not wearing a seatbelt. The investigation continues.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information regarding damage to property at a home in Markesan. Chief Deputy Mark Putzke says sometime overnight between April 20th and 21st, two large rocks were thrown through the front bay window of a home located at 380 Edmaz Street. Putzke says the rocks destroyed the window and caused significant damage to the wall inside the home. The individual or individuals also shot numerous rounds of paintballs at the home, causing damage to the outside of the house. The man accused of taking hostages and exchanging gunfire with police at a Neenah motorcycle shop will stand trial in August. A trial date was set for Brian Flatoff in Winnebago County Circuit Court Monday. He’s facing 11 felony charges in connection with a standoff at Eagle Nation Cycles last December, including attempted first-degree homicide. Flatoff also faces five felony charges for a disturbance at a Neenah home preceding the standoff. The confrontation led to the fatal shooting of hostage Michael Funk by police as he tried to escape. Winnebago County Judge John Jorgensen scheduled a two-week trial to begin Aug. 22.

One person is killed and three injured following a one-vehicle accident at I-41 and State Highway 55 near Kaukauna. The Wisconsin State Patrol says the accident happened Saturday afternoon around 2:10pm. Investigation shows the male driver lost control of his vehicle when exiting onto State Highway 55. He drove into the ditch, causing the vehicle to roll over several times. A 27-year-old female passenger in the back of the vehicle died. The driver and two other female passengers were transported to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah with non life threatening injuries. The females were not wearing seatbelts. The investigation continues.

A federal judge is presiding over a trial to help him decide whether changes Republicans have made to Wisconsin voting laws illegally burden minorities and other Democratic-leaning constituencies. Liberal Group One Wisconsin Institute social justice group Citizen Action of Wisconsin Education Fund and 10 voters filed the lawsuit last June. They allege sections of Wisconsin’s voter ID requirement, reductions in early voting windows and tougher voter registration standards unconstitutionally burden minorities, young people, the elderly and the poor’s voting rights. U.S. District Judge James Peterson began the trial on Monday morning. It won’t feature a jury, leaving the final decision up to the judge. The proceeding is expected to last nine days.

Racine County sheriff’s investigators are working to determine if a third person was a victim of a house explosion and fire in the Town of Burlington. Two bodies have been recovered from the rubble of the house following Saturday’s explosion and fire. Authorities say a third person could have been in the home at the time, but they are not certain of that. Sheriff’s officials say the fire appears to be suspicious in nature and an investigation continues. Firefighters were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. Saturday on a report of smoke and flames coming from the home following a large explosion. Sheriff Christopher Schmaling says the home was leveled.
