Someone with a winning lottery ticket sold in Wisconsin has missed out on a jackpot. A Powerball ticket sold in Eau Claire worth $1 million wasn’t redeemed by the March 21st deadline. So instead of going to the winner, the money will go toward property tax relief. The ticket was bought last September. By law, winners of lotto games in Wisconsin have 180 days to claim their prizes. A spokeswoman for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue says the winner did not come forward. She didn’t know why, but says it’s rare not to redeem a $1 million winner. The odds of winning a $1 million Powerball prize are 1 in 5,153,633.
