  • Black Hawk Folk Society…David Stoddard live streamed concert
    19:00 -21:00
    September 19, 2020

When David Stoddard isn’t writing songs or composing music, he’s performing at house concerts, folk fests, or other gigs. When he’s not doing that, he’s working on film or choir projects. When he’s not doing that, he may be teaching other people how to play piano, ukulele, guitar, bass, or about the fundamentals of music theory, song writing, or composition. On Saturday, September 19, you can hear and see Stoddard put many of those talents to work during his live streamed concert for Black Hawk Folk Society. Check Black Hawk’s Facebook page for a link to the concert, which begins at 7 p.m.
Stoddard grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, received a Master’s in music education at North Dakota State University, and eventually landed near the Minnesota Twin Cities. Stoddard finds comfort and inspiration from Lake Superior, north woods solitude and quiet, as well as televised football games!  He has won multiple awards at folk music festivals, has produced a half dozen plus collections of songs, singing and performing on accordion, guitar, and piano. To sample his talents and learn more about him, visit www.davidstoddardmusic.com
During the pandemic, Black Hawk Folk Society has suspended its monthly concert series held at Mountain View Community Center near Mt. Morris, offering instead series of streamed concerts. Visit Black Hawk’s web page, www.blackhawkfolksociety.org or its Facebook page for additional information and updates. Black Hawk is a non-profit organization, completely volunteer driven, with a mission to provide live music and offering related outreach programs when possible.
