    Book Bingo Challenge

The Ripon Public Library is trying a fun new reading challenge for adults (ages 16+): Book Bingo! You have from now until July 31 to complete as many Bingo Book spaces as you can. Some of the challenges include reading a bookthat: was published the year you were born, has a great cover, or is a banned book. Write the book titles in the spaces you’ve completed and have library staff initial your bingos. 5 completed bingos earns you a free book of your choice from the book sale shelf. 6+ completed bingos earns you an entry into our gift bag drawings (chocolate, tea/coffee, book sale gift certificates, bookmarks & more!). Stop by the library to pick up your Book Bingo sheet today!

Call the library at 748-6160 or contact Mandy Sprague at msprague@riponlibrary.org for more information.

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale, April 19 – April 21

Ripon, WI – The Friends of the Ripon Public Library will be holding its semi-annual used book sale from April 19 – April 21 in the basement of the library at 120 Jefferson Street.  The Last Chance Room has been completed reorganized since the last sale, with better shelving to make the books easier to find.  Credit card payments will be accepted throughout the sale, in addition to cash and checks.  The mission of the Friends is to promote and support public resources and community programs at the Ripon Public Library, and proceeds from the sale are used to support this mission.  In the past year the Friends have assisted with funding the adult, teen and children’s summer reading programs, the Makerspace collection, Pinterest Craft Club, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, books on CD, and more.

    Thursday, April 19: Early Bird Sale from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Get a leg up on the competition by attending the Friends of the Library used book Early Bird Sale!  Free for Friends members to attend, $3 entrance fee for all others, the Early Bird Sale will let you browse and purchase any of the books available.  The sale will then be open free of charge on Friday and Saturday.

    Friday, April 20: Book Sale open 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Please note the new hours – open earlier to anyone looking for a great deal on gently used books.  Come back tomorrow for even more deals!

    Saturday, April 21: Book Sale open 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Library semi-annual used book sale continues with a $3 grocery bag sale in the Last Chance Room – the Showroom is excluded from the bag sale.  This is your last chance to stock up until the next sale!  Because of the large volume of book donations received throughout the year, many of the books which don’t sell will be recycled after the sale and will not be here again.

The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center to host Cheese & Wine

    18:00 -21:00
    April 19, 2018
835 Parkside St, Ripon, WI 54971, USA

The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center is hosting its first annual Cheese & Wine event on Thursday, April 19 at Ripon Medical Center, 845 Parkside Street, in the hospital’s atrium.

The event begins at 6 p.m., and features wine from Vines & Rushes Winery, beer from Knuth Brewing Company, local cheese & chocolates, a bountiful hors d’oeuvre buffet, live music and silent auction. Dress is business casual. Tickets are $40 per person.

Proceeds for this fund-raiser will benefit the automated external defibrillator (AED) fund, as the foundation works to keep these lifesaving devices readily available throughout our community. An AED is a portable device that is used in cardiac arrest emergencies to deliver safe and vital electric shocks to the heart in an effort to re-establish the heart rhythm. AEDs are a crucial link following a cardiac episode, because the sooner a device is used, the less damage is done to heart muscle.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in our country,” says Holly Brenner, The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center executive director.  “We are proud to offer the tools needed to bring immediate assistance, helping to reduce damage to the heart.”

Sponsors (as of March 26) include: Century 21 Properties Unlimited, Hillside Dental Associates, J.F. Ahern Co., Oberreich Foundation, and Shea Electric & Communications, LLC.

For more information on sponsorship opportunities or for tickets to attend, visit agnesian.com/cheesewine or call (920) 926-4959
