Join Jenni Borell, E-RYT, certified integrative yoga for seniors instructor, and certified essential low back program instructor, to release tension, increase range of motion and energize through this slow-paced, therapeutically-oriented class.

This class is suited for all ages and abilities.

Gentle Yoga is scheduled for Mondays, August 7 to 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the RMC Wellness Center, 845 Parkside Street, Ripon. Individuals should bring a yoga mat to each class.

The public is invited to attend a candy and nut sale by The Nutman Company, sponsored by the Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary, on Tuesday, August 8. This event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ripon Medical Center Atrium by the gift shop.

The Nutman Company features 150 fine quality nuts, chocolates, snack mixes and candies at reasonable prices!

Proceeds benefit Ripon Medical Center programs and services. Visa and MasterCard are welcome, as well as cash and checks.

The public is invited to attend a PRN Uniform and 40 Winks linen sale, sponsored by the Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9  in the hospital’s Princeton and Ripon rooms.

PRN Uniforms will feature a selection of more than 4,000 items from top manufacturers, including scrubs, shoes and accessories at affordable prices. The sale will feature a selection of more than 4,000 items from top manufacturers, including scrubs, shoes and accessories at affordable prices.

We’re more aware than ever of that there are toxic chemicals in our household and personal care products. But, are we able to identify them on the store shelf or in our own cupboard? In this class, we’ll talk about how toxic chemicals damage our health and environment, how to spot them on labels, and advice on how to make your own products with non-toxic ingredients. Presented by Brenda Block, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

A community favorite for friends & family! Come down to the Village Green located at the corner of Watson and Seward Street in downtown Ripon.  The series typically takes place on Friday evenings, June through August, 7p-10p, but occasionally bonus concerts are added or events rescheduled due to weather issues. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. No carry-ins are allowed in the park because beverage sales help cover entertainment expenses. Free music isn’t really free. Aug. 11 features Vic Ferrari

Planning is underway for the 16th annual Back to School Bash, coordinated by the Waushara County Department of Human Services. The Back to School Bash provides backpacks and school supplies for Waushara County children in need. Paying school registration fees and purchasing required school supplies can be a financial hardship for many families. The start of the school year can be especially stressful for parents and students if they return to school without the expected school supplies and know their parents can’t afford them. The Back to School Bash depends on support of local business, civic groups and community members to ensure community children have the tools they need to learn. Last year, more than 300 children received backpacks of school supplies. The committee is currently seeking donations of new and/or gently used school supplies, backpacks and monetary donations. Donation totes will be placed throughout the county and are currently available in Wautoma at BMO Bank, Old National Bank, Chiropractic & Wellness Center, the Wautoma Public Library and the Waushara County Department of Human Services at 230 West Park Street Wautoma. Totes are available in Wild Rose at Farmers State Bank, Centex Coop and the Patterson Memorial Library. Monetary donations can also be made payable to Waushara County DHS-Back to School Bash, P.O. Box 1230 Wautoma, WI 54982.

The Back to School Bash will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the basement demonstration room of the Waushara County Courthouse. School supplies will be distributed from 8-11am on a first-come first-serve basis. To offset program costs, $2.00 per backpack fee will be collected. Proof of Waushara County residency is also required. Saturday, August 12th, “Let’s Light up the Night” Ice Age Trail Alliance Hike. The Waushara County Chapter of the Ice Age Alliance will be holding an evening hike on Saturday, August 12th at 8:30pm. This guided hike is approximately 1.5 miles in length and a limited supply of free glow bands will be available so it is suggested you arrive at 7:45 when the gathering begins. Dress up in your favorite “glow in the dark” clothing, bracelets, necklaces, light sabers, long pants, and enclosed shoes (no flip-flops!). Flashlights and headlamps are recommended for safe travel use if needed. Don’t forget to bring your friends and bug spray. You will be meeting the group in the Town of Hancock in the Greenwood Wildlife Area at the trail crossing on Brown Deer Ct. between County Rd. FF and County Rd GG. Watch for the event signs.
