We have a new group starting in Wautoma called the Cancer Care & Share Group. We will be meeting the 4th Sunday of each month. If cancer has touched your life in some way, come, share your story, or just listen. It will be an evening of sharing in small groups. Snacks will be provided. On Friday, April 28 from 8am-4pm we invite you to help clean-up 109 E. Main Street, the former Omro Pharmacy. In order to get the building prepared for the Omro Downtown Open House event on May 13 and sold or leased, we need to improve its’ curb appeal both inside and out. The project involves painting parts of the old wooden facade on the exterior and doing some cleaning inside. What we need from you are your time and your muscles. Butterfly Effect Event at Tractor Supply in Berlin

There will be a brat fry, bake sale, 75+ basket raffle and vendor fair with 37 vendors. There will also be face painting for children and the Berlin FFA is hosting a children’s pedal pull competition at 11 a.m. with registration beginning at 10:30. All of the proceeds from the event this year will be donated to Gabby’s Guardian as a Pay it Forward to two local families whose children battle nocturnal epilepsy and need service dogs.
The County of Waushara, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29 at the Redgranite Fire Department from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. This effort will continue to bring focus to the issue prescription painkiller abuse in Wisconsin. Drug Take Back Day provides a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the community about the potential abuse and consequences of improper storage and disposal of these medications. Unused or expired medicine should never be flushed or poured down the drain. Water reclamation facilities are not designed to remove all of them and trace amounts of pharmaceuticals are showing up in rivers and lakes. GUIDELINES: All waste pharmaceuticals must be generated by a household – no businesses are allowed. Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, patches, inhalers, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vials and pet medications. Do Not Bring: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, acids, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas), mercury thermometers. Participants may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box or into a clear sealable plastic bag. Plastic pill containers should not be collected. Blister packages without the medications being removed are acceptable. Liquids will be accepted during this initiative. However, the liquids, creams and sprays must be in their original packaging and their weight evenly distributed within the boxes of collected solid prescription medications. Liquids without the original packaging will not be accepted. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative and should not be placed in collection containers.
Join Emmaus Lutheran Church, located at W2185 Cty H in Poy Sippi, for their Roast Pork Dinner on Saturday, April 29th. The menu will include roast pork, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, coleslaw, and desserts. You can have this delicious meal any time from 4-7pm or until they sell out.
