The event is scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 18 at the Ripon Medical Center Campus, 845 Parkside Street.
“We’re so grateful to be a part of the Ripon community, and the Community Cookout is just one way that we can easily share our thanks for their continued loyalty and support,” says Katherine Vergos, Ripon Medical Center chief operating officer. “We have experienced so many new developments over the past several years, including our new facility, and we know that community support has played a large role in our successes.”
Participants will enjoy a free dinner with family and friends, as well as musical entertainment by the Kevin Fayte Rock Trio.
Ripon Medical Center associates and providers will be on hand to visit with guests, as well as serve a delicious dinner – so come hungry!
Children will enjoy various crafts and face painting, as well as various yard games. And, the Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary will be present to share exciting news on its upcoming 75th anniversary in 2017.
To ensure participant safety, Ripon Medical Center has worked with city leaders to close Eastgate Drive all day on August 18 as many activities are staged in that area. Hospital and event traffic should enter from Douglas Street. Parking will be available by the RMC Wellness Center, which will help keep emergency department access open for patients in need of services.

For the 24th consecutive summer, the streets of downtown Ripon will be filled with the sound of music when the Ripon Summer Concert Series returns. This year’s series includes a greater variety of music than ever before. Organized by Ripon Main Street, Inc. The series typically takes place on Friday evenings, June through August, but occasionally bonus concerts are added or events rescheduled due to weather issues. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. No carry-ins are allowed in the park because beverage sales help cover entertainment expenses. Free music isn’t really free. A special Thank You goes out to the local businesses that sponsor the music series. Let them know you appreciate the financial commitment they have made to our community. We are grateful to have their support, because there would not be a concert series without their financial assistance. Ripon Main Street, Inc. invites you to enjoy an evening of entertainment in historic downtown Ripon and discover what makes our community so special.
