For the 24th consecutive summer, the streets of downtown Ripon will be filled with the sound of music when the Ripon Summer Concert Series returns. This year’s series includes a greater variety of music than ever before. Organized by Ripon Main Street, Inc. The series typically takes place on Friday evenings, June through August, but occasionally bonus concerts are added or events rescheduled due to weather issues. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. No carry-ins are allowed in the park because beverage sales help cover entertainment expenses. Free music isn’t really free. A special Thank You goes out to the local businesses that sponsor the music series. Let them know you appreciate the financial commitment they have made to our community. We are grateful to have their support, because there would not be a concert series without their financial assistance. This lunch was started after the Tornado in 1992 and has continued through the years. Area churches and civic organizations provide the meal. Waushara County Residents are invited to come to this free meal held the last Saturday of the month. Donations are welcome to help offset the cost of the meal. Hillside Assembly Church in Ripon is hosting a Mexican Dinner (Una Mexican Cena) prepared by Rosa Rivera & Family. The menu consists of 2 Chicken Tacos or 1 Quesadilla or 1 Gordita with Refried Beans, Rice, Drinks & Deserts. $10 Tickets can be purchased at Door, or by calling Jairo Granados at 748-6487 or Mike Nichols at 748-6323. Carryouts available !!This is to raise funds for The CICRIN Orphanage School (attended by approximately 77 Children). The project will be a 7th Grade Classroom or Bathrooms worked on by a 12 Person Missions Team led by Jairo Granados to the CICRIN Orphanage located on the Island of Ometepe, Nicaragua. Hillside has partnered with this Orphanage since 2002, and has assisted in Building Projects & Ministry efforts over the years.
