    Ring in the Holidays with a Cheese Box from the Ripon Noon Kiwanis.Get a gift for the hard-to-buy-for and two for yourself! TheRipon Noon Kiwanis is holding their annual cheese box sale, now through the2nd of December.  Each box of cheese is $25.00 and contains a 12 oz.sausage, a garlic dip, and one package each of brick, medium cheddar, andstring cheese.  Orders are due by Friday, December 2nd, with pick up onWednesday, December 7th from 5:30-7pm at Divine Passages Funeral Home, 175N. Douglas St., Ripon.The annual cheese sale is one of the fundraisers that helpbenefit the many wonderful programs spearheaded by the Ripon Noon Kiwanisin the community; which includes recurring college scholarshipopportunities, the annual Children’s Fair and the Ripon Toy Lending Libraryamong the long list of sponsored group initiatives.   • Wautoma Rotary Christmas Parade

    Thursday, December 1st, Wautoma Rotary Christmas Parade. The Wautoma Rotary will be hosting Wautoma’s Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 1 st. The parade line up will begin at 4:30pm on Park Street. The Parade will start at 5:30pm on Main Street by the Post Office and will continue West towards the WWII Memorial Building. Following the parade will be hot chocolate and cookies provided by Mayor Nixon and a tree lighting at the WWII Building provided by Martz Insurance. Lighted floats are encouraged and there will be prizes for best entries. Santa has also accepted their invite to be in the parade. Businesses located on route and surrounding areas are also encouraged to light up store-fronts and decorate! For any information, contact Peder Culver at pculver@lifequest-services.com.

  • Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary Bake Sale

    The Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary is getting into the holiday spirit with homemade baked goods during a special sale starting at 9 a.m. (until sold out) in the Ripon Medical Center Atrium on Tuesday, December 6.

    Proceeds will go toward scholarships for area students interested in pursuing healthcare careers and to support the patients and services of Ripon Medical Center.

    The Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary is also now conducting its Lights of Love raffle, which features a variety of prize packages consisting of items, gift certificates and cash donated by area businesses with package values of at least $350 each.

    Raffle tickets are $5 each, three for $10, or 10 for $20. They are available for sale at the Ripon Medical Center information desk and gift shop. The winning entries will be drawn at the tree lighting ceremony, which is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7; need not be present to win.

    Proceeds from this year’s project will support the development of a wellness walkway on the Ripon Medical Center campus. This will create another healing space at the hospital where visitors can enjoy nature, clear their mind, exercise, eat lunch, meet friends or take a break.

  • Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary kicks off 2016 ‘Lights of Love’ program

    The Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary, Inc. has festivities in motion for its 29th annual “Lights of Love” program, a living memorial or tribute to friends, relatives or dedicated citizens of the community.

    A special lighting ceremony, which is open to the public, is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7 at Ripon Medical Center, 845 Parkside Street. The public is invited to a brief program with holiday carols sung by a choir followed by the Lights of Love raffle drawing. Refreshments will be served.

    A blue spruce tree at Ripon Medical Center – off the Journeys Commons – will display both white and colored lights, representing memorial and honorary remembrances respectively.

    “Please join us for this celebratory evening,” according to Jackie Halverson, Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary president. “It’s a touching time, knowing we are honoring and remembering loved ones through cheerful lights, words and music. It’s a time of reflection and joy and, for many of us, it represents the love for all during the Christmas season.”

    The lights are available for a suggested donation of $5 per designation, and proceeds from this year’s project will used to support the development of a wellness walkway on the Ripon Medical Center campus.     Lights of Love brochures, including donation forms, as well as acknowledgement cards, are available to share with friends and neighbors at the Ripon Medical Center Information Desk and Gift Shop.

    The Lights of Love project also includes a raffle, which features a variety of gift baskets filled with items and gift certificates donated by area businesses with an average basket value of at least $350 each. Tickets are $5 each, three for $10, or 10 for $20. Tickets are available at the hospital’s information desk and gift shop.

    Baskets are available for viewing in Ripon Medical Center Journeys Commons near the water wall. The winning entries will be drawn at the tree lighting ceremony; need not be present to win.

    The public is invited to attend a candy and nut sale by The Nutman Company, sponsored by the Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary, on Thursday, December 8. This event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the Ripon Medical Center Atrium by the gift shop.

    The Nutman Company features 150 fine quality nuts, chocolates, snack mixes and candies at reasonable prices! This is a great opportunity to pick up a special gift or satisfy your sweet tooth.

    Proceeds benefit Ripon Medical Center programs and services. Visa and MasterCard are welcome.

    Winter break is even more fun for the kids when they get to attend Town Square’s Winter Camp. Camp dates are Monday, December 26th through Wednesday, December 28th from 9:00 am to noon each day. This camp has been designed to incorporate: hands on cooking, guided art lessons and wellness classes. Each day, kids rotate to three different instructors every hour to engage in something new and exciting. That’s 9 different classes over the course of 3 days!
