Family and Community Town Supper (FACTS)

    17:15 -20:00
    November 7, 2016
440 West Main Street, Wautoma, WI, United States

    Monday, November 7th

The Waushara County Healthy Communities Healthy Youth Committee a subcommittee of the Waushara Prevention Council, Inc., is proud to announce the next Family and Community Town Supper (FACTS) on Monday, November 7th, 2016 at 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The topic will focus on marijuana in our communities and the effects of legalization. Marijuana is now legal in four states. Many questions remain about the safety and effects of this drug. How are our bodies affected? What are the consequences of legalization? How can marijuana affect our local community? Despite these questions, the drug continues to become more popular. In 2016, 23% of Waushara County high school students reported using marijuana at least once.

The evening will include a free supper at 5:15 pm followed by a presentation from special guest Kevin Wong at 6:00 pm. Kevin has a background in law enforcement and works for the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. He will be presenting on the topic of the effects of marijuana legalization in Colorado.

All community members are encouraged to attend this evening of discussion.

The event will be held at the Wautoma World War II Memorial Building located at 440 West Main Street. Registration is required for all attending.

Please RSVP no later than October 28. A $3.00 donation is encouraged to cover the cost of the meal and help fund future FACTS events. For questions or to RSVP please contact Mary LaBlanc at 920-787-6600 or marykay.lablanc@co.waushara.wi.us.
