Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day Waushara County’s largest free family fun and resource fair, Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day will be held on Saturday, April 1st from 8:30am-12:30pm at Parkside School, 16th Avenue – Wautoma. The event offers information for parents, hands-on activities for kids and loads of family fun. It has been a local tradition since 1992. Helping celebrate twenty-five years of Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day in Waushara County, children’s recording artist, Tom Pease, will take to the stage at 10am for a concert filled with song, movement and laughter. Tom is a Wisconsin favorite, “Tom Pease is one of the finest children’s performers I have ever had perform at our library. His energy and humor draw in listeners of all ages, children and adults alike. Tom’s repertoire includes his own compositions, folk classics and a variety of multicultural songs. His song topics span the gamut from silly songs like “Bellybutton” to the touching, like his wonderful “Love Grows”. Tom likes to include motions, sign language and Spanish into his shows, which has everyone’s brain working in multiple ways.” The concert is sponsored by the Wautoma Area Kiwanis. In addition to wiggly, giggly concert fun children might enjoy some time with the huggable, snuggable, scaly and slippery animals that will be on hand to teach and explore. Such adventures will be provided by Havens Petting Farm and Natures Niche. Havens Petting Farm, sponsored by the Healthy Communities Healthy Youth initiative, features adorable farm animals. Their petting zoo will include bunnies, chicks, lambs, ducks, goats, a calf, alpaca, mini pot pig and even a mini horse. Natures Niche, LLC sponsored by The Cupboard, features animals native to the rainforest. This live animal exhibit has been featured at the Green Bay Pet Expo and offers creature teachers to see and touch!
