Berlin High School Art Student Receives Grand Prize Award from WASB

10 February 2019 News

(Berlin, WI) Berlin High School student Erika Mullen won the grand prize award at the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) Student Art Contest. For her artwork, a watercolor piece titled “Striving for Excellence,” Mullen received a $750 scholarship, supported by the Wisconsin Art Education Association and Liberty Mutual. Mullen’s work, along with art pieces by BHS students Makayla Rooney and Scotty McGibbon were on display at the recent WASB Convention.

“Erika, Makayla and Scotty are all talented artists who worked very hard on their paintings,” says Lori Rademann, Berlin High School Art Teacher. “It was an honor for all of them, and for our program, to have their works featured at the conference. Erika was especially excited to take home the grand prize scholarship for her artwork. She has an eye for beautiful details, and I am very proud of her accomplishment.”
